BLOG:
Hi kids! This is Tesa and William. This morning, students walked into the classroom with a moderate volume. As the students sat down, and began to write the agenda, Ms. Nakada played our daily take a minute (which was quite inspirational.) Next, Maya walked up, and read her blog to the class. She had little to no errors, and Ms. Nakada gave us a point. Maya called Tesa and I, and we walked up to the blogging desk. Once we began writing our blog, Ms. Nakada played our quote of the week. This week's quote was, "Besaydoo, we whisper to each other across the country." By Yale Kamara. We then listened to a podcast featuring Ada Limon, who was reading the poem our quote was from. Next, we moved on to our question of the week, which asks, Can money buy happiness? A majority of the class agreed that money can buy happiness, but a fraction of the class disagreed. Ms. Nakada then brought up the extra credit opportunity of writing letters of gratitude to people we are grateful for. Lastly, we got eight minutes to read, and take notes on Inside Out & Back Again. As a class, we discussed the meaning of each poem, and summarized everyone's thoughts. Whilst discussing, the bell rang, and we were dismissed to fourth period.
