It's Goldie and William, back for our fourth blog! Today is February 26th, 2026. As the bell rang, beginning third period, our class quieted down, and Ms. Nakada turned on our daily take a minute. This week's meditation was a YouTube short of a fat, orange cat (that I think looks similar to one named Mochi) who was snoring loudly. At this time, students began writing the agenda, and when the "meditation" ended, Hudson read his blog. It was good, but we didn't get a point. Disappointment. Hudson then chose me, Goldie, and I asked William to do the blog with me. But before we began I had to make sure he understood that I had a goal to make the blog look unique and adorable.  I think it looks cute. Next, Ms. Nakada passed out the lines. Our lines for this week we ca...

Hudson's Fourth Blog

AGENDA Take a Minute  Blog Corrections Week 7: SONG Homework: Lit Circle Essays due 3/2. Read toward IRP goal.     I am doing the blog today, and class started out as usual with Ms. Nakada playing our take a minute video, which is supposed to be a cat purring, but it sounds more like a lightsaber. Then, Kingston shared his blog, which was great, and he asked who hadn't done the blog. Molly and I were either the only people who had integrity, or the rest of the class who hadn't done the blog didn't hear him. He chose me, so that is why I am writing today. Then, Ms. Nakada told us that we would be listening to a song that had cussing, so she asked us if we could handle it. We told her that we could, and I think that our class handled it very well. We then had a discussion on what the song was about, and wrote a few sentences on it afterward. After that, we worked on our literature circle essays. Then the bell rang, and class ended.

Kingston's Fourth Blog๐Ÿ‘ฝ

Agenda: Take a Minute Blog Corrections Week 7: Question Literature Circle Essays HW: Essays due 3/2/Read toward IRP goal     I am doing the blog again. Today, we began by filing into the classroom and taking our seats. We then proceeded to watch our daily mindfulness video. After that commenced, Kellan read through his blog, and once he finished, Ms. Nakada corrected his blog. We then began discussing our question for this week, which is, "How do intersectional identities inform your experience?" Ms. Nakada then brought up people like Michelle Obama and Alysa Liu. Once everyone finished writing their answer to the question, Ms. Nakada revealed to us that we will have to write the rough draft for our essays on paper, much to the dismay of the class. We then began writing our essays. Also, Sebastian killed his notebook and then attempted to perform surgery on it. He failed, meaning Ms. Nakada had to step in and tape it all together. But as we wrote our essays there was lig...

Kellan's Fourth Blog

AGENDA -take a minute -blog/corrections -week 7: Grammar Quote -lit. circle essays HW - Essays due 3/2 Read toward IRP Goal! Hello, it's Kellan. We started off the day by coming in the class room and sitting down. I wrote down the agenda after watching the take a minute. Then, Mikey read the blog and Nakada corrected it. Next, we started the weekly grammar, and quote following a brief talk about women's and girl's rights. Later, I received a paper titled Essay Preparation.  Then, we talked about our three thesis' statements for our essays. Lastly, I talked about what I'm going to write before I read a little 'til the bell rang, ending our day in English.

Mikey's Fourth Blog

Take a minute -Blog corrections -Week 6 quiz -Literature circles Hello, it’s me Mikey, and this is my fourth blog. Today, we all got into class at an earlier time than usual; it’s a minimum day. We get right into the take a minute while Ms. Nakada grades everybody’s binder reminders. Then, we move on to the week six quiz, which is about Black history and confronting America’s violent past. After that, we quietly read our literature circle books until the bell rings, concluding a shorter than usual English class.

Hriday and Hunter's Fourth Blog

Agenda: - Take a minute - Blog/corrections - Week 6: Question/Lines - Student Led Conferencing Homework: - Complete Lit. Circle Books! - SLCs due on Thursday! Blog: Hello, this is Hunter and Hriday!   Today's English period started off with some loud chit-chat, and Ms. Nakada seating a few people who weren't here yesterday. Our first thing we did after this was our take a minute video. After we were through with the take a minute, Jaden and Vance came up in front of the class to read their blog. Their blog was quite exceptional and "enchanting." Next, Jaden and Vance had the (not so) difficult task of choosing someone for the blog. Without hesitation, they chose me, Hriday (they justified it as revenge). I asked Hunter if he wanted to do it with me, and he accepted, so we both are writing the blog today. For some reason, Hriday decided to color code our parts of the blog and made mine an odd bright blue. Deal with it, Hunter.  Anyway, we then read our lines for the ...

Jaden and Vance's Fourth Blog

AGENDA Take a minute Blog corrections Week 6: Grammar and Quote Student led conferencing HW: Complete Lit.Circle Books! Student Led Conferences on Thursday! 5-7 pm Hi class, it's Jaden and Vance. Today we came into class talking rather loudly. Finally, we quieted down and switched seats. Then, we did the take a minute video. Soon after, we began this week's Grammar, which discussed the differences of "then" and "than," and the quote by Katherine Johnson about doing the best you can and enjoying your education. Unfortunately, soon after Vance sat down at the blogging seat with me, I had to go down to the office for a test which I have re-scheduled to a later date. I came back as soon as possible to finish the blog. After that, we started creating our student led conferencing letters to our parents. We went over all the paragraphs that we need to have as everyone started writing. While I was still writing, the bell rang, forcing an end to this enlightened cla...

Luke's Fourth Blog

Agenda: -Take a  minute -Blog/corrections -Week 5: Song -Lines -Book project gallery walk Hw: Read 100 pages in lit. circles this week Hello, it's me, Luke, and this is my fourth blog. We walked into class today coming back from lunch, and sat down and wrote our agendas. Then, Jonny and Ethan read their blog, which our class found very funny. They picked me to do the next blog. Then, we listened to the song, which is called "I'm Not In Love" by 10cc. Our class then decided that we should listen to "Perfect" by Ed Sheeran. After listening to the songs, we put the lines in our notebooks and read them. The poem is called "1st love song to the black girl at smart camp" by Nate Marshall. After that, we started our gallery walk for our book projects. We walked around for a few minutes, looking at each others book projects. The bell rang soon after, and it was the end of another English class.

Jonny and Ethan's Fourth Blog

Take a minute blog/corrections week 5: Questions Literature Circles  HW read 100 pages in lit. circles this week Book projects due Thursday! Hey, it is Ethan and Jonny on the blog this quite lovely, chilly, productive, yet intellectually sophisticated morning. Today, Sam and Sebastian read their corny and cringy blog, but they got the whole squad laughing at that one. We got no points from it, so it wasn't great vocabulary. Get your vocab up, not your funny up. We went over the grammar from yesterday, and discussed how the sub loved computers. After that, we discussed the quote by Nicola Yoon. Ms. Nakada told us it was from the book The Sun is Also a Star . After that, we discussed about the question, and a New York Times  article about 36 questions to fall in love. After that discussion, everyone wrote down their answers to the question and discussed with their desk partners. Then, Ms. Nakada said to get into our lit circle groups, but Jonny and I couldn't, since we we...

Sam and Sebastian's Fourth Blog

AGENDA take a minute blog corrections lit. circles week 4: Quiz HW: Read 100 pages of your Literature Circle books    Hey, it's us Sam and Sebastian. Today, we walked into class ready to learn, and we sat down in our chairs and wrote our summaries for our books for the week. Then, Liam went to read his blog to the class which was pretty good A+. Then, he selected Sam to write the blog, and Sam selected Sebastian. Next, we both went to sit at the blogging table. Then, it was time for literature circles where everyone read their books. Sebastian and Sam didn't read as much because they were locked in on this blog. They were writing even with their palms sweaty and thinking about mom's  spaghetti. Then, when Sebastian and Sam were writing the blog and others were reading books, Ms. Nakada started to check binders which we got a good score on. After that, we proceeded to discuss our literature books. Then, Ms. Nakada said we could finally take the Quiz. Sebastian didn'...

Liam's Third Blog

Take a minute Blog corrections Week 4:Song Literature Circle HW: Read 100 pages of your literature circle books. Hello, everybody. It's me Liam! As everyone enters the class, I walk to my desk hoping I'm not chosen to write the next blog. Everyone gets seated for the take-a-minute. As I finish up my reading-log, I realize it's Talia's turn to read her blog, and I tremble in fear to be picked. Once she's finished, she asks the class if anyone would like to write the blog. Then, out of nowhere, everyone in the class calls my name. I ask if  there's anyone else that hasn't gone up, but my luck has ran out. I alone was left as the last blog-writer just hoping my time wouldn't come, but yet it has! I grab my stuff and walk up to the front of the class, taking my seat in the blogging chair with sadness. I wait for Ms. Nakada to bring up the blog doc. Then, as we were finishing up today's song notes. I was supposed to log out and have her sign into her acco...

Talia's Third Blog

Agenda: Take a minute Blog/corrections Week 4: Question Literature Circles HW: Read 100 pages of your literature circle books Hello, it's your favorite person, Talia. Today, we walked into English class and took a seat as we all listened to the take a minute video. Next, Leila read her beautiful blog. Little did I know that this beautiful blog writer would soon betray me. When she finished, the most unfortunate thing happened. I was chosen to do the blog. I angrily took my seat as Leila laughed an evil cackle from behind me. I took out my English book, plotting my revenge on Leila, as we wrote down the question of the week. The question of the week was how can we celebrate this 100th year of Black History Month? Many people shared their responses including Sigi and Kingston. After we answered the question of the week, Ms. Nakada then announced we were going to our literature circle groups. I went to my group and typed this blog instead of reading, sadly. Don't worry though, I ...
