Hey, it is Ethan and Jonny on the blog this quite lovely, chilly, productive, yet intellectually sophisticated morning. Today, Sam and Sebastian read their corny and cringy blog, but they got the whole squad laughing at that one. We got no points from it, so it wasn't great vocabulary. Get your vocab up, not your funny up. We went over the grammar from yesterday, and discussed how the sub loved computers. After that, we discussed the quote by Nicola Yoon. Ms. Nakada told us it was from the book The Sun is Also a Star. After that, we discussed about the question, and a New York Times article about 36 questions to fall in love. After that discussion, everyone wrote down their answers to the question and discussed with their desk partners. Then, Ms. Nakada said to get into our lit circle groups, but Jonny and I couldn't, since we were writing the blog. Then, Ms. Nakada came around the room to grade our summaries for lit circle. And that was our day in English 8. Thank You for listening.

Agenda: Take a minute Blog corrections week 11: Lines NaPoWriMo Today, we sat down in English and wrote down the agenda while the Take a minute played. Ruby went up and presented her blog, and then chose me to write the blog. After that, I went up to the desk and started writing. We reviewed the grammar from yesterday, covering three specific comma rules. We then discussed a quote by Emily Dickinson, and talked about the feelings that poetry can invoke. Next, we talked about the question of the week, "How do you feel about poetry?" Once we finished that, we read the lines a couple times, then analyzed the lines, a poem from Howard Nemerov. Next, we were asked to write a poem in the same format as the poem we read. I wrote a poem answering questions I got when ESA went to the UCLA water polo match. Then, class was over, so we packed up and left.

  Agenda: - take a minute - blog/corrections - week 3: question - readers workshop Homework: Finish books this week! Hello, it's me, Hriday! Today we all walked into class, talkative as usual, and settled down into our seats. We all copied the agenda down into our binder reminders (I was a little late to do so), and Ms. Nakada started our daily take-a-minute video. I did not take a minute, as I was scrambling to fill in the binder reminder entries I had missed while I was absent. Once the take-a-minute video was over, Jaden came up to read his blog, and Ms. Nakada corrected a few mistakes. Next, Jaden had to decide who he wanted to choose to be the next blogger, so he asked if anyone wanted to go. Nobody raised their hand (as usual). Since nobody raised their hand, Jaden wanted to do a large game of rock-paper-scissors with the people who had not done the blog yet.  Agenda: - Take a Minute - Blog/Corrections - Week 5: Song - School Trip /Reader's Workshop Homework : Read 100 pages of a book of your choice by Monday 9/15 Hi, it's Sigi. Shortly after entering Ms. Nakada's classroom and doing our daily "take a minute," Layla read her blog, which was very well written. Ms. Nakada read one of her former students' letters to us, and she  had very good advice that should be taken into consideration. Our class reached ten points, yet again, and we decided on getting pizza for our reward. The song of the week is called "Non Je Ne Regrete Rien" by Edith Piaf, which is about living now, and not getting stuck on your past experiences, so you can enjoy life to the best of your ability. Some words we used to describe the tone of this song were motivational, urgent, and robust.
