Agenda - take a minute - blog • corrections - week 19: lines - ten year plans Homework Think about your life in ten years. Blog Good Afternoon! Today the class walked into the classroom and sat down. Ms. Nakada played the take a minute, and we listened intently. She then called up the last bloggers, and they read their fabulous blog. The bloggers then selected Vance and I to write the next blog. We then proceeded to read our lines for the week, "Just as the Calendar Began to Say Summer" by Mary Oliver. Then, Adrian burst in and relayed a mysterious message to Ms. Nakada. Then, Mr. Kamm came in, spoke a few words of wisdom, and left. We then analyzed the poem, and almost moved on to the ten year plans, but were interrupted by a "leanthy karioky descusion." Vance, your spelling is quite unique. After discussing the rest of this week's lines, we moved onto the ten year plan, where we looked at possible fields we were interested in, and their salaries. Then we moved...

AGENDA -take a minute- -blog/corrections- -Week #19: Question and Song- -ten-year plans- HW: Think about your life in ten years... Good morning! Today we walked into class chatty as ever, and settled down to watch the take a minute video. Next, we wrote down the question and discussed what we were excited and nervous about for high school.   Alex, Ethan, Kingston, Nell, Maya, Sigi, Goldie, Lev, and Molly all shared their opinions. Next, we listened to the song 'See You Again" by Wiz Khalifa ft. Charlie Puth. This song was very nostalgic and talked about friendships and loss.   After that, we talked about our budget for our life in ten years and about how planning is helpful. We then talked about the prices for utilities, food, buying or leasing a car, gas, insurance, phone bills, entertainment, savings, and student loans.   The total cost including all of those factors came out to $4800.  The bell then rang and that was the end of our English class.  Bye!...

Agenda: - Take a minute - Blog Corrections - Week 18 Quiz - Week 19: Grammar/Quote - Ten year plans Homework: Think about your life in ten years... We came into class on this fine Tuesday after our three day weekend and reviewed our take-a-minutes. Maya and William shared their poetic blog and then we took our quiz from last week. We talked about our studying habits we plan to carry into high school and had a productive conversation about AI. Then, we quickly reviewed our quote by Maya Angelou.  We started to plan our life in ten years, and I decided I want to be a social worker, doing Broadway auditions on the side with my ferret.

Agenda -  take a minute blog - corrections week 18: song original oratory prep hw - original oratories due 5/21 Less than two weeks remain. Twelve and a half days. It's everyday when we experience something for the last time. On May 21st, we walk into class. Some are tired, some are talking. Metal legs scrape the floor. Alex and Sam read their blog... Alphaville's "Forever Young" fills the air. Melancholy hangs decidedly with it. Because we don't want to live forever. But this year is almost done. And we couldn't be more conflicted that it's coming to an end. Ms. Nakada reads her original oratory. And weirdly enough, we are quiet. We stand still and listen. Listen to her, her thoughts, her feelings, And we appreciate it.  More than we show. And as another class comes to an end, The printer screeches as it prints out oratories. One down. Classes dribbling to an eventual stop.

We lowkirkenuinly are not doing anything on the agenda today... but its okay because we are just going at our own pace.  We watched the take a minute to prepare for last week's quiz... It was easy. Next, we watched people perform their poetry.  Okay plans changed, we actually are doing SOMETHING from the agenda. We are discussing our week 18 grammar which is just oratory prep. molly lock in.  peekaboo... okay, GABE IS SCREAMING. KIARA IS COMPLAINING... But, its okay? #En...

AGENDA: - Take a minute - Blog corrections - Week 16: Quiz - Gallery Walk - Week 17: Grammar, Quote - Poetry Slam Prep HW: Poetry Slam Tuesday 5/12 GOOD MORNING! Today, we pranced into the classroom, and reviewed last week's take a minute. Then, Miriam read her beautiful blog, and chose us to write today's. Following that, we pulled out our computers, and took last week's quiz. We then had our gallery walk, and everyone's projects were ravishing. Jaden's "purple rain" turned into a "purple puddle," but it was impressive nonetheless. We were given some helpful insight on how to present better for tomorrow, such as making sure your pace and volume is fitting for your poem. We were subsequently given some time to work on our Poetry Slam poems. Soon after that, the bell rang, wrapping up another English class. Have a good day everyone, and please don't get Hantavirus.                          Sincerely, Sigi an...

AGENDA Take a minute Blog/Corrections Week 16: Question NaPoWriMo Submissions HW: NaPoWriMo Submissions due May 8th! POETRY SLAM May 12th! Hello, it's Daniella and Helena. Today, we entered the classroom and took a seat for the daily take a minute; writing down the agenda as well. After that, Lev and Kellan went up to read their blog, which was pretty good. They chose Daniella, and then she asked me to do the blog with her. Then, Ms. Nakada reminded us to always try to leave a space cleaner than we found it. As we were setting up the blog, the class realized we hadn't decided what prize to get, since we have ten points. Eventually, we decided to get bagels and donuts. Soon, we moved on to this week's question, which was about who we go to to understand what's right and what's wrong. When we finished discussing the question, we got time to work on our broadsides and poetry collections. We worked quietly until the bell rang, and then Ms. Nakada dismissed, marking the ...

AGENDA Take a minute Blog/corrections Week 16: grammar/quote  HW: NaPoWriMo Submissions due May 8th Poetry Slam May 12th! Today, we sat down in class and listened to the new take a minute as the class wrote down the agenda. Talia went up to present her blog, then very aggressively chose me to do the blog. I asked Kellan if he wanted to write the blog with me, and he said yes. Then, we did the grammar, which was about revising our poems. After that, we did the quote, which was by an American activist, telling us not to blindly follow others. Once that was done, we had time to finish our broadsides and submissions. We did this until the bell rang, and that was the end of another English class.

Agenda Take a minute Blog/Corrections NaPo Wrap-Up! Poem-in-your-pocket Day! NaPoWriMo Submissions Homework: NaPoWriMo submissions due May 8th! POETRY SLAM May 12th! It's your favorite person, Talia. Today we walked into class and sat down to write the agenda. As we wrote down the agenda, the very irritating take a minute started playing. Then, Hudson and Hunter went up to read their blog. It was ok. Hudson then asked who hadn't gone yet, and I reluctantly raised my hand. I was  chosen. I guess it had to happen at some point. Ms. Nakada then gave us time to finish up our NaPoWriMo journey. As we finished writing our last poems, I could see the tears welling up into Hudson's eyes. Kate then came in and taught us about herself. She taught us how to make name tents. The rest of the class period was spend coloring and writing our name tents. That concluded another day of English.
