Literature Circle

HW: Read 100 pages of your literature circle books.




Hello, everybody. It's me Liam! As everyone enters the class, I walk to my desk hoping I'm not chosen to write the next blog. Everyone gets seated for the take-a-minute. As I finish up my reading-log, I realize it's Talia's turn to read her blog, and I tremble in fear to be picked. Once she's finished, she asks the class if anyone would like to write the blog. Then, out of nowhere, everyone in the class calls my name. I ask if  there's anyone else that hasn't gone up, but my luck has ran out. I alone was left as the last blog-writer just hoping my time wouldn't come, but yet it has! I grab my stuff and walk up to the front of the class, taking my seat in the blogging chair with sadness. I wait for Ms. Nakada to bring up the blog doc. Then, as we were finishing up today's song notes. I was supposed to log out and have her sign into her account. The class then takes out their books for Literature Circles. Instead of reading, since I already read at home, 
I'm on my Chromebook writing the blog. Now, I'm finishing the blog. After, the bell rings.

Agenda: Take a minute Blog corrections week 11: Lines NaPoWriMo Today, we sat down in English and wrote down the agenda while the Take a minute played. Ruby went up and presented her blog, and then chose me to write the blog. After that, I went up to the desk and started writing. We reviewed the grammar from yesterday, covering three specific comma rules. We then discussed a quote by Emily Dickinson, and talked about the feelings that poetry can invoke. Next, we talked about the question of the week, "How do you feel about poetry?" Once we finished that, we read the lines a couple times, then analyzed the lines, a poem from Howard Nemerov. Next, we were asked to write a poem in the same format as the poem we read. I wrote a poem answering questions I got when ESA went to the UCLA water polo match. Then, class was over, so we packed up and left.

  Agenda: - take a minute - blog/corrections - week 3: question - readers workshop Homework: Finish books this week! Hello, it's me, Hriday! Today we all walked into class, talkative as usual, and settled down into our seats. We all copied the agenda down into our binder reminders (I was a little late to do so), and Ms. Nakada started our daily take-a-minute video. I did not take a minute, as I was scrambling to fill in the binder reminder entries I had missed while I was absent. Once the take-a-minute video was over, Jaden came up to read his blog, and Ms. Nakada corrected a few mistakes. Next, Jaden had to decide who he wanted to choose to be the next blogger, so he asked if anyone wanted to go. Nobody raised their hand (as usual). Since nobody raised their hand, Jaden wanted to do a large game of rock-paper-scissors with the people who had not done the blog yet.  Agenda: - Take a Minute - Blog/Corrections - Week 5: Song - School Trip /Reader's Workshop Homework : Read 100 pages of a book of your choice by Monday 9/15 Hi, it's Sigi. Shortly after entering Ms. Nakada's classroom and doing our daily "take a minute," Layla read her blog, which was very well written. Ms. Nakada read one of her former students' letters to us, and she  had very good advice that should be taken into consideration. Our class reached ten points, yet again, and we decided on getting pizza for our reward. The song of the week is called "Non Je Ne Regrete Rien" by Edith Piaf, which is about living now, and not getting stuck on your past experiences, so you can enjoy life to the best of your ability. Some words we used to describe the tone of this song were motivational, urgent, and robust.
