What's up, class. I'm back at first again, except this time I'm the first one to go twice. Today we filed in with average volume, some of us talking, some yelling, others making no noise at all. After everybody came in, we all filled out our binder reminders with the aforementioned schedule I showed above. Then, once everybody got that down, we started our take a minute video, which was a continuation of the one we did yesterday. It was a bit of light meditation and discussion of feelings and mental state. After that, we started day 8 of our Createober drawings. The Inktober prompt was "reckless." I, personally, am doing a version of Createober in which I draw an album cover every day, so today I drew the cover for the album Apollo XXI by Steve Lacy. Then we had some people go up and show their drawings. Lev made a picture imaging a car going down a winding road very fast, Talia made a royal cat, and Kellan made a picture of a guy surfing and he added to his sea monster drawing, just to name a few. We then read a poem called "The Quiet World" by poet Jeffrey McDaniel. We dictated that it was about a dystopian future in which people can only speak 167 words per day. We also found that it was melancholic in tone and introspective in themes. Then we discussed Chapter 1 of The Outsiders and organized the events into a plot mountain, with an introduction, a rising action, and a climax. We then also did the same thing for Chapter 2 as well. Then, the bell rang, as Ms. Nakada told us that we will not have to write an essay about School Trip, but that it would be extra credit instead. That was a pretty big relief. Anyways, that was our day in English today.
