Hello, it is I, Hunter. Today's English class was kicked off by watching our take a minute video. I don't remember what it was about, but I imagine it was very inspiring and helpful. After this, Hriday came up to the front of the class to read his second blog. Once he was finished, he had Vance, Jaden, and I play a game of rock-paper-scissors to decide who writes the next entry. I lost to both Vance and Jaden simultaneously, therefore you are hearing me speak today. We then spent five minutes drawing our Creatober entries. A few people shared their entries, such as the rocket that Ethan drew, and Ruby's drawing of a couple on a swing. Apparently, there's this thing occurring called Grouptober, and today's entry seemed to be eyes. After Creatober, we opened our English notebooks and began to discuss the question of what our relationships to homework are. Personally, I don't have a great relationship with homework, as I don't have the best work habits and am not much of a fan of homework in general. We also discussed the purpose of homework; this being to help review and understand material and to teach and improve work habits. After this, we discussed chapter three and a little bit of chapter four of The Outsiders until the bell rang, and left for period four.

Agenda: Take a minute Blog corrections week 11: Lines NaPoWriMo Today, we sat down in English and wrote down the agenda while the Take a minute played. Ruby went up and presented her blog, and then chose me to write the blog. After that, I went up to the desk and started writing. We reviewed the grammar from yesterday, covering three specific comma rules. We then discussed a quote by Emily Dickinson, and talked about the feelings that poetry can invoke.   Agenda: - take a minute - blog/corrections - week 3: question - readers workshop Homework: Finish books this week! Hello, it's me, Hriday! Today we all walked into class, talkative as usual, and settled down into our seats. We all copied the agenda down into our binder reminders (I was a little late to do so), and Ms. Nakada started our daily take-a-minute video. I did not take a minute, as I was scrambling to fill in the binder reminder entries I had missed while I was absent. Once the take-a-minute video was over, Jaden came up to read his blog, and Ms. Nakada corrected a few mistakes. Next, Jaden had to decide who he wanted to choose to be the next blogger, so he asked if anyone wanted to go. Nobody raised their hand (as usual). Since nobody raised their hand, Jaden wanted to do a large game of rock-paper-scissors with the people who had not done the blog yet.  Agenda: - Take a Minute - Blog/Corrections - Week 5: Song - School Trip /Reader's Workshop Homework : Read 100 pages of a book of your choice by Monday 9/15 Hi, it's Sigi. Shortly after entering Ms. Nakada's classroom and doing our daily "take a minute," Layla read her blog, which was very well written. Ms. Nakada read one of her former students' letters to us, and she  had very good advice that should be taken into consideration. Our class reached ten points, yet again, and we decided on getting pizza for our reward. The song of the week is called "Non Je Ne Regrete Rien" by Edith Piaf, which is about living now, and not getting stuck on your past experiences, so you can enjoy life to the best of your ability.
