HW Finish The Outsiders by Monday.
Hello, guys, it's me Ruby, We walked into class on Monday, October 6th and all took a seat. Kellan started off the class with slapping people with his stripped slap bracelet, which Ms. Nakada quickly shut down. We then filled in our binder-reminders, and watched the take a minute. Nell read her blog, and then chose me to be the next blog writer. After that, we had time to work on our createober, and a few people came up to share their drawings. We then started on the week 9 Grammar, and Quote. For the grammar we focused on the elements of plot-or components in a story, including the setting, characters, and the conflict. The quote this week is by Stephen Chbosky, and says "Banning books gives us silence when we need speech. It closes ears when we need to listen. It makes us blind when we need sight." This quote is talking about how banning books limits the freedom of speech, and in doing so limits the ways we can progress as people. we had a lengthy discussion about what books were banned, and why. We then read a bit of chapter 1 of The Outsiders before the bell rang. Okay bye.
