Good morning! As another period of English began, we took our seats, walking in at a mediocre volume. We sat down, and started writing the daily agenda on our binder reminders. Next, we watched our daily take a minute for this week. After that, our five minute timer for our createobers began, and we all started drawing our prompts for today. after the time was up, students went up to the front to share their createober drawings. Next, we went over our song of the week. This week's song was called, "Blue Jeans and White T-shirts" by Gaslight Anthem. We talked about this song relating to the outsiders, specifically the greasers. we next talked about Chapter 8 of The Outsiders. We talked about the first meeting of Johnny's mom, and the conversation between Ponyboy and Cherry. We next began discussing Chapter 9, the most important chapter. We discussed the big rumble between the Socs and the greasers, the greasers victory, and Johnny's death. We then continued our notes on NaNo WriMo, which I started because I wasn't here. we discussed creating ideas of our novels Protagonists, Antagonists, and supporting characters. As we were thinking, the bell rang, and we all packed up, ending another period of English.

Agenda: Take a minute Blog corrections week 11: Lines NaPoWriMo Today, we sat down in English and wrote down the agenda while the Take a minute played. Ruby went up and presented her blog, and then chose me to write the blog. After that, I went up to the desk and started writing. We reviewed the grammar from yesterday, covering three specific comma rules. We then discussed a quote by Emily Dickinson, and talked about the feelings that poetry can invoke. Next, we talked about the question of the week, "How do you feel about poetry?" Once we finished that, we read the lines a couple times, then analyzed the lines, a poem from Howard Nemerov. Next, we were asked to write a poem in the same format as the poem we read. I wrote a poem answering questions I got when ESA went to the UCLA water polo match.   Agenda: - take a minute - blog/corrections - week 3: question - readers workshop Homework: Finish books this week! Hello, it's me, Hriday! Today we all walked into class, talkative as usual, and settled down into our seats. We all copied the agenda down into our binder reminders (I was a little late to do so), and Ms. Nakada started our daily take-a-minute video. I did not take a minute, as I was scrambling to fill in the binder reminder entries I had missed while I was absent. Once the take-a-minute video was over, Jaden came up to read his blog, and Ms. Nakada corrected a few mistakes. Next, Jaden had to decide who he wanted to choose to be the next blogger, so he asked if anyone wanted to go. Nobody raised their hand (as usual). Since nobody raised their hand, Jaden wanted to do a large game of rock-paper-scissors with the people who had not done the blog yet.  Agenda: - Take a Minute - Blog/Corrections - Week 5: Song - School Trip /Reader's Workshop Homework : Read 100 pages of a book of your choice by Monday 9/15 Hi, it's Sigi. Shortly after entering Ms. Nakada's classroom and doing our daily "take a minute," Layla read her blog, which was very well written. Ms. Nakada read one of her former students' letters to us, and she  had very good advice that should be taken into consideration. Our class reached ten points, yet again, and we decided on getting pizza for our reward. The song of the week is called "Non Je Ne Regrete Rien" by Edith Piaf, which is about living now, and not getting stuck on your past experiences, so you can enjoy life to the best of your ability.
