HW: Read and write a poem a day!
Welcome to our remarkable blog. You're about to listen to the silliest blog ever, and if you disagree, fight with a wall.
Today, we walked into the classroom and took our seats gracefully. As the take a minute video played, everyone wrote down the agenda in their binder reminders. Kingston was irritated with the sound in the take a minute video, but eventually he calmed down. Next, Molly and William went up to read their blog. It was beautifully written and earned us a class point. Thank you Molly and William. They then chose Tesa and me to do the blog. They chose well.
We then took out our notebooks and wrote about testing strategies. We were given great tips to bring our intellect to our highest on the day of the test. Some tips that we talked about were arriving at school on time, getting enough sleep, and bringing a charged Chromebook to school. Next, we were all given a yellow sheet of paper to help us practice for the SBAC test. Like Albert Einstein once said, "Any fool could know. The point is to understand."
After that, we pulled out our poem packets and read "Moments" by Mary Oliver. In this poem, Mary Oliver is saying that you need to take risks and not be afraid of the big moments in life. We also watched a Get Lit performance of the poem "at the cemetery..." by Lucile Clifton and the readers' response poem. It was a very moving and informational performance.
And that's when it ended. Happy birthday, Ms. Nakada!
