NaPoWriMo: day 9

𝓗𝓸𝓶𝓮𝔀𝓸𝓻𝓴-

Read and write a poem a day!

:・゚✧:・.☽˚。・゚✧:・.:

Today, we sifted into the classroom, finding our seats before sitting down. Before we even realized, Madison and Nell were reading their blog. While they read, we looked stared at a pile of books on Goldie's desk. It was almost like they were looking back at us. Asking, "Why are we here?" Ms. Nakada took them off her desk, making a comment on the excessive amount of books in the classroom.

Once Madison and Nell were finished reading their blog, we whisper-yelled at Madison, "PICK ME!" and alas here we are. As a class we listened to the spoken performance of a poem by Yrsa Daley-Ward, titled "Poetry." After logging it in our English notebooks for the week, we went ahead and read two more poems, selected by students. " Self-Portrait With Woman On The Subway" by Hayan Charara, and, "The Problem With Travel" by Ada Limón."

After reading, we got time to write our poems for today. Liam shared his, which was about dusk and dawn. Kingston shared his, which was about feeling privileged. Then, Ms. Nakada wrote down our NaPoWriMo progress, and the bell rang soon after.
